Two men have been arrested and charged with possession of an illicit drug, after packets of dry cannabis leaves were seized during a police search on Saturday morning, May 27.

The search warrants were carried out at a residence and tax allotment in Vaini.

Police also seized ammunition, electronic devices, cash and assorted drug paraphernalia.

The accused aged 30 and 53 years from Vaini were remanded in custody to appear at the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, May 29.

Deputy Commissioner 'Unga Fa'aoa said they were continuing to target the supply of illicit drugs within the community.

 “There is absolutely no place in our communities for illegal drugs. Police will continue to prosecute those who grow, sell or use illegal drugs," he said.
