An application for leave for judicial review filed by Nanise Fifita, former CEO of the Tonga Broadcasting Commission against Government regarding the termination of her employment contract, has been granted by the Supreme Court.
Lord Chief Justice O.G Paulsen granted the application for leave on Friday, May 19.
Nanise through her counsel will now have to file the formal application for the judicial review to be dealt with the courts later.
The application for leave to have a judicial review is against two defendants, Tonga Broadcasting and the Minister for Public Enterprises who in a decision on 1 May, declared her renewed employment contract void.
At the same time, an application for injunction, which she also filed against the defendants will be heard on 2 June, confirmed the Supreme Court office today.
