Man arrested with cannabis at Ha’akame [1]

A 33-year-old man was arrested with 45 packs of cannabis and one pack of cannabis seeds during a police search warrant at a home in Ha'akame on Friday, May 19. 

The one pack is reported to have contained over 100 cannabis seeds.

Acting Chief Superintendent Tevita Valiea said today the accused has been charged with possession of the illicit drug and will appear at the Nuku'alofa Magistrate’s Court this week.

He said the police rely on the public to pass on information about drug cultivation, manufacture or dealing. "Information can be relayed to local police stations or made anonymously by phoning 23417 or 25147."
