A 17-year-old boy is in Vaiola Hospital after he was shot on his upper right breast at a bush allotment in Taoa, Vava’u allegedly by an anonymous shooter, who has not been located.

Vava’u Police reported that at around 2:00pm on Wednesday, May 10 the victim went to their bush allotment located between Taoa and Tefisi. It is alleged that while there he was shot, but he did not see who shot him.

He was flown to Nuku'alofa on Thursday morning, May 11 where he was admitted to the hospital for treatment after sustaining the gunshot wound which was located a few inches just above his right breast.

Police investigation is being carried out to find the shooter because the victim did not see anyone at the scene.

He is reported to be in a stable condition at Vaiola.
