Utah Police have arrested Sione Vaitai (26), of Tongan descent, who has been on the run from Police since Friday after he allegedly stabbed his father and sister with a kitchen knife at their home in Sandy City, Utah.

The victims were taken to hospital in critical condition but are now stabilized.

Sione was captured in northern Utah after a car chase by police, who eventually forced his pick-up truck into a disabling spin. A nearby Intermediate School was put on lockdown during the incident. Sandy Police stated that Vaitai will be transported to Salt Lak County jail.

Sione is accused of stabbing his Father and Sister with a kitchen knife during a family dispute on Friday night, May 13. He fled the scene in a truck before Police arrived. Details surrounding the dispute are undisclosed and under investigation.
