The Tonga Communication Corporation today launched its new broadband service called "Data Anywhere" at the Fafa Island Resort, on one of Tongatapu's offshore islands.

The new data anywhere service is a high-speed internet-connection that uses either a wireless network or an existing phone line.

Tai...’atu ...‘Ata...’ata, the Marketing and Sales Manager for TCC, said the company had successfully tested the new broadband service, and they chose Fafa Island as the location for the launch simply to prove their product...’s name ...“Data Anywhere...”. Fafa is a 30 minutes boat ride from the capital Nuku...’alofa, and TCC engineers successfully connected with their TCC headquarters at Fasi mo e Afi by using the new broadband service.

TCC data anywhere service is a 24 hours connection available from Monday to Sunday and has a speed that is 10 times faster than their normal dial-up access, ranging from 64kbps to a maximum of 512kpbs.

Tai...’atu said the data anywhere service will soon have full coverage of Tongatapu and then it will be launched in Vava...’u later this year.
