Shoreline whistleblower, Piveni Piukala is to appear for his arraignment at the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court on July 11, 2006.

During the arraignment Piveni will be informed of the charges brought against him and he will then enter a plea of guilty or not guilty and further court dates are to be set.

Piveni, the former Manager of the Computer Division of Shoreline, Tonga...’s electric power supplier, is charged under the Computer Crimes Act.

He in a series of interviews with the Kele...’a newspaper in March 2005 revealed the high salaries of the Shoreline executives and claimed there were problems inside Shoreline.

After making his allegations against Shoreline, Piveni moved his family to Fiji in March of last year but he returned back to Tonga in June 2005 to participate in the Heilala Golf tournament.

He was arrested by the Tonga Police on June 27, 2005 but was later released on bail on June 29.

Piveni first appeared in the Nuku...’alofa Magistrate's Court earlier in February, and his case was submitted directly to the Nuku...’alofa Supreme Court where he first appeared on April 6.
