A 45-year-old woman who was arrested following a complaint that she had at numerous times assaulted her 68-year-old mother at a home in Ma’ufanga has been charged with assault. 

Acting Chief Superintendent Tevita Vailea said today the woman is expected to appear at the Fasi Magistrate’s Court on a date to be confirmed next week.

This case was made known to Police through a radio talk back show when a neighbour of the accused reported it. The matter was investigated by police resulting in the arrest.

The mother has since been removed from the home and is staying with a relative.
