Schoolboy hit by three-tonnes truck [1]

A nine-year-old boy remains in Vaiola Hopsital with a fractured leg and bruises after being hit by a quarry truck on Taufa'ahau Road at Hoi on Monday, March 20.
Acting Superintendent Ve’ehala from the Mu’a District Police station said today the accident involved a three-tonnes truck.
The young boy was on his way to school talking with other kids on the side of the road. It is alleged that the boy had suddenly crossed the road.
"The driver has been charged with reckless driving at this stage. But we are monitoring the boy's condition at Vaiola Hospital in regards to any further charges," he said.
There are no allegations of speeding.
