Switzerland's Honorary Consul-General to Tonga [1]

Carl Sanft has become the Honorary Consul-General of Switzerland to the Kingdom of Tonga.
This was formalized by the Prime Minister Hon ‘Akilisi Pohiva who this morning, read out to the Ambassador of Switzerland to Tonga, Dr David Vogelsanger a Letter of Exequatur from the Government of Tonga, accepting Mr Sanft to the position.
PM Pohiva said the Government of Tonga looks forward to working closely with the Ambassador and the Honorary Consul-General who will look after Swiss citizens living in Tonga or visiting.
Mr Sanft received a letter of approval from the President of Switzerland this afternoon, for him to be Switzerland's Consul-General to the Kingdom of Tonga.
Ambassador Vogelsanger arrived in Tonga on Saturday, February 25 to pay his last respect to the late Queen Mother Halaevalu Mata’aho, who was laid to rest on Wednesday, March 1.
Carl Sanft is also the German Honorary Consul to the Kingdom of Tonga.
