The Legislative Assembly of Tonga will resume on Monday, January 30 for its final sitting of the 2016-17 session, that will include discussion on the status of Tonga’s efforts to host the 2019 Pacific Games.

The agenda will include bills, business from the previous sitting, Annual Reports from Government Departments and Constituency Visit Reports. The House will also discuss issues regarding Tonga’s effort to host the Pacific Games 2019, according to staff at Parliament Office.

It is also expected that Cabinet will update Parliament on referral matters pending executive decision and action.

The last sitting of the House was in October 2016 before parliamentarians took a break for the Christmas and New Year’s holiday.
