Eleven year-old Siana Akauola (of Tongan heritage) has gained media attention for her participation in an anti-Trump protest rally in Washington DC last Saturday January 21.

Siana told The Buffalo News "I'm marching for my friends and family."

Siana along with her grandmother Valerie Akauola joined over a half-million protesters as they participated in the "Women's March on Washington". Siana was inspired by the rally. "I'm going to make better choices, maybe do better in school," she said.

They travelled to Washington DC by bus from their home in Buffalo city.

Siana's grandmother Valerie Akauola told The Buffalo News "This is one of those priceless things that you don't get in a classroom ... She's just 11. But these young people come up with great things. They're brilliant. She'll end up doing something with this."
