Rescue boat wins prize in Tapa Pride Float Parade [1]

Prizes were awarded by the Tonga Leities Association for the inaugural 2016 Tapa Pride Float Parade on December 10, concluding two weeks of activism against gender violence.
Tonga Police won $500.00 for the Best Float, which featured its rescue boat carrying a woman and man dressed in traditional Tongan wear. The prize was made up of $300 cash and two $100 gift vouchers from Leiola Group Ltd.
The inaugural Tapa Pride Parade advocates gender equality, family harmony as well as gay/transgender rights.
