American found dead on yacht in Vava'u [1]

A 74-year-old-man, an American citizen was found dead on the deck of his yacht 'Eagle Wings' in Neiafu on Wednesday, December 14.

Police today said he was found lying on deck and was immediately rushed to Ngu Hospital at 6:00pm. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Deputy Police Commissioner Pelenatita Vaisuai said the police were investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

"He was working on his yacht, which was at a boat yard in Vaipua, Neiafu."

The man whose name has not been released is reported to have arrived alone in Vava’u on his yacht on 24 November.
