Christmas is coming to Nuku'alofa next week when four cruise ships will visit the capital, bringing thousands of visitors from December 12-16. 

One of the cruise ships is bringing more than 2000 passengerswho will have the opportunity to spend a few hours touring the island, before departing on the same day. These visits should boost local tourism activities, for example handicrafts will be sold at the wharf and at the market, where passengers normally visit.

The Europa II will arrive at Vuna Wharf from the Cook Islands on Monday, December 12 bringing 466 passengers and 374 crew.

On the same day, the Radiance of the Seas cruise ship of the U.S Royal Caribbean International Company is expected to arrrive in Vava’u from Lautoka. It will then continue to Nuku’alofa on Tuesday, December 13 bringing 2250 passengers and 878 crew, stopping over for a few hours before sailing to Auckland.

On Thursday, December 15 Crystal Symphony cruise will arrive in the capital with 500 passengers and 570 crew. From USA, the cruise ship will depart on the same day for Fiji.

Then the Costa Atlantica will visit on Friday, December 16. The cruise ship is expected to bring 1965 passengers and 808 crew.
