Rival student groups who clashed in Vava'u, at the weekend, damaging church property, joined a community reconciliation meeting today in Neiafu.
Chief Police Inspector Pesalili Kailahi said that the reconciliation was a success where principals, teachers, church leaders, parents and friends gathered with students of two schools to ease the tensions and smooth things out. Following hymns, prayers and heart wrenching speeches at the Saineha High School Hall, Masilamea, Neiafu, this morning rival students from two schools, Saineha and Mailefihi-Siu'ilikutapu decided to forgive and to forget the animosity that they had displayed toward each other during the past few days.
The meeting ended at mid-afternoon to be followed by a Fai Kava.
