Rape inquiry of Noble Lasike ends [1]

The preliminary inquiry of Hon. Lasike on criminal charge of rape ended in the Nuku...alofa Magistrate's Court on Monday, March 20.
Police Magistrate Peau Pifeleti, who presided over the inquiry said that he would announce his findings either before the end of the week or early next week on whether there was a case to be heard in the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court.
The inquiry concluded with submission by the Police Prosecutor ...Unga Fa...aoa and the legal counsel for the defendant, William Clive Edwards.
During the course of the inquiry, which started on March 15, the Prosecutor called 10 witnesses, and in his final submission 'Unga stressed that there was a case to be heard in the Supreme Court.
Clive Edwards on the other hand argued that the Prosecutor failed to provide sufficient evidence for a case to be heard in the Supreme Court.
