A man and a woman are being hospitalised for injuries, after the man was allegedly stabbed by the woman when he attempted to rape her during an alcohol drink up at Tatakamotonga on Sunday, 18 September.

Police said today that Vaiola Hospital had reported the alleged offences yesterday. 

The man is hospitalised for stab wounds while the woman is receiving treatment for injuries sustained from an alleged attempted rape.

The offences are alleged to have taken place during the drink-up.

"We are still investigating this incident to get a proper account of what took place and the relationship of these two persons," said a police spokesperson.
