Ten manslaughter accused go to Supreme Court [1]

Ten men and boys accused of manslaughter in the death of ‘Alani Fuapau (19) who was allegedly beaten and stomped to death in Taufa'ahau Road on the night of July 9, are to be tried at the Supreme Court in Nuku’alofa.
Tonga Police confirmed today that the accused appeared at the Magistrate’s Court in Nuku’alofa on Monday, 1 August and had their cases submitted to the Supreme Court for arraignment.
The teenage victim who died after remaining in a coma for over a week at Vaiola Hospital, sustained serious injuries from a violent attack after leaving a bar in the Nuku'alofa Central Business District.
The accused, aged 22 years to the youngest, a 14-year-old boy are all reported to be from the village of Kahoua, Tongatapu.
