Pacific Quotas draw 250 Tongan names [1]

Up to 250 Tongans who applied to the New Zealand government’s Pacific Access Category Quota for a chance to obtain residence visas, had their applications drawn on Friday June 11.
Immigration New Zealand Assistant General Manager, Geoff Scott, said around 22,000 applications were received this year.
Under the Pacific Access Category, 650 places are available for nationals from Tonga (250), Fiji (250, Tuvalu (75) and Kiribati (75), whereas 1,100 Samoan nationals have places under the Samoa Quota.
New Zealand immigration officials will contact those who are successful and the ballot results will be announced on 17 June 2016.
Successful applicants will have until 4:00pm on Monday 10 March 2017 to complete and lodge their formal residence visa applications.
