Claude Tupou is now the new CEO for the Ministry of Education and Training, for a three year term, starting from May 31.

The appointment announced by the Public Service Commission on 3 June, said Claude brings to the position more than two decades of work in the education sector.

He began his career as an assistant teacher in 1992, was Deputy Principal at the Tonga Institute of Higher Education and Tonga High School. He was also Deputy CEO for nine-years at different divisions and had been Acting CEO for the Ministry, at several times.

Claude holds a Master of Arts majoring in Economics from the University of Waikato, Bachelor of Arts from Hawaii Pacific University, among other qualifications.
