Lord Tu'iha'ateiho case adjourned to 24 May [1]

A quarrel with another person at Ha'ateiho resulted in a complaint laid against Lord Tu'iha'ateiho, that led to police executing a search warrant at the noble's home earlier this month.

Appearing at the Nuku’alofa Magistrate’s Court today, 17 May, Lord Tu’iha’ateiho was charged with assault, unlawful possession of ammunition namely one bullet, killing or maiming an animal and disturbance.

The Magistrate adjourned his case to Tuesday, 24 May, due to legal matters.

Tonga Police confirmed that the noble is charged in relation to an incident alleged to have occured at his estate Ha’ateiho, where he had a quarrel with another person, resulting in a complaint that led to police to executing a search warrant at his home. Police reported that a bullet was found at his home and he was arrested on Wednesday, 4 May.

The accused was then released on bail on 5 May.
