Civil servant accused of causing road death [1]

Poasi Ngaluafe (49) was charged in relation to the death of a man who was allegedly sitting in the middle of By-Pass Road at Longolongo early Sunday morning 8 May.

Tonga Police today confirmed that the accused, a civil servant working at the Ministry of Fisheries, appeared at the Nuku’alofa Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 16 May. His case was adjourned.

He has been charged with reckless driving causing death and drunk driving in relation to the death of Uini Kava (46), who died at the scene.
