SPC appoints Dr 'Ofa Keitu'u, Director of Statistics [1]

Dr 'Ofa Ketu'u

Dr ‘Ofa Keitu‘u of Tonga, has been appointed as Director of the Statistics for Development Division at the Pacific Community (SPC) based in Noumea, New Caledonia, taking effect on 1 July 2016.

With a background in economic and social statistics, Dr Keitu’u spent more than 20 years in leadership positions across the Pacific region including roles at the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation, the Government of Tonga, the World Bank and recently with Statistics New Zealand.

Dr Keitu’u has a PhD in Development Studies from Auckland University and a Master of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics.

The Pacific Community (SPC) is the principal scientific and technical organisation in the Pacific region, supporting development since 1947.
