A 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged in the death of a 46-year-old man whom he allegedly ran over with his vehicle on By-Pass Road early on Sunday morning, 8 May. The deceased is alleged to have been sitting on the road.

Police said today the driver who is charged with reckless driving causing death and drunk driving, was heading west on By Pass Road

The accident happened near the Sinipata Store in Longolongo. The victim died at the scene.

Tonga Police said that the accused from Vava’u, living in Sopu, remains in custody as investigation continues.
