Prisoner recaptured at Popua [1]

Escaped prisoner Heamani Lopeti (41) was captured last night Monday, 18 April inside an empty house in Popua.

He was located at around 7:50pm, during a police operation.

He will be charged with escaping from police custody pending trial, regarding a series of armed robbery charges.

The prisoner had escaped from police custody while at the Magistrate’s Court in Nuku’alofa on Tuesday, 12 April.
