A young Tongan, Sione Posesi Fanua Bloomfield (31), has been appointed as the new Attorney General of the Marshall Islands on January 12, confirmed his mother Siosiane Bloomfield today.

Posesi a barrister from Tongatapu first began working at the Attorney General's office in 2001 as an attorney and the Deputy Attorney General.

He has previously worked a legal counsel for the Crown Law Department of Tonga and at Tonga...’s office for Marine Hull Registration in Athens, Greece.

Siosiane who expressed of her joy in regards to her son...’s achievement said that she and her husband Paula, are very proud of him and "especially in the fact that he has achieved such a top job at a young age".

The third of their four children, Posesi has a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in English BA and a law degree LLB from the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia.
