Royalty blesses birthday bash [1]

Tonga’s King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u were in Queenstown, New Zealand, this week to attend the 60th birthday party of Louise Waterhouse, the Sydney-based honorary consul for Tonga.

Louise's father Bill Waterhouse, who was Tonga's honorary consul general in Australia for 40 years, and she said that both families go back to when the king’s father and her father attended Sydney University together.

“My real passion in life is my role with Tonga….and I feel very privileged to be in a position through that role where I can make just a small difference to this wonderful island nation,” Louise said.

Also in attendance was Louise’s brother Robbie Waterhouse, and his Australian horse trainer, Gai, and their family.
