Pacific Finance and Investments Ltd. has invested about $1.3 million in Tonga for the construction of two new buildings this year.

The construction includes a new $300, 000 warehouse for KW International located at the Small Industries Centre, and a $1 million office complex for Office Equipment in Fatafehi Road, Nuku‘alofa.

Ross Chapman, the chairman of PFI, said the construction of the new 600 sq. metre KW International warehouse began over a year ago and was due to be completed in July.

“It will provide more space for storing building materials for KW International, but at the same time we also recognised the need for a good quality warehouse in Tonga,” he said.

KW International will occupy half of the warehouse and the rest of the space will be available for rent.

Two stories

Site work for the new 700 sq. m. Office Equipment complex began in early June and the building is expected to be completed by November. The two storey building will also have space for rent.

“We will be expanding all our technical services like our Quick Printing Copy Centre Operations because the new building will provide a proper setting,” said Ross.

The steel construction is being done by Spirit Pacific Company.

PFI was established in 1992 as a holding company that now owns several businesses including Pacific Properties, Office Equipment, Pacific Timber, the Dateline Shipping Agency and KW International. Ross Chapman is the majority shareholder of the company.
