‘Akosita Havili.

When ‘Akosita Havili entered the first ever 'Face of Tonga' Pageant in early December, it was, “just for fun, something to do”.

The 18-year-old from Ha‘ateiho said that the modeling contest helped her face up to her worst fear, which was standing in front of a large crowd. Then she surprised herself by winning the title, “I didn’t know where that courage and confidence came from, because during the two nights of the events I did great”, said ‘Akosita, who won herself a return airline ticket to Auckland and a cash prize of $500.

“I was still sitting my Form 7 Bursary Examination at that time,” said ‘Akosita, who planned to pursue further studies overseas in 2003, and would like to become a retail businesswoman.

“The two reasons that I want to pursue this career is that I will be my own boss, and second, earning lots cash,” laughed ‘Akosita.
