Tupou Vaipulu, (left) a Tongan who is studying at the Beijing University, attended the official opening of the Pacific Islands Forum Trade Office, in Beijing on September 11, with Va‘inga Palu.

Va‘inga Palu, Tonga’s Director of Trade, attended the China International Fair for Investment in the Chinese city of Xiamen on September 10 and met the Chinese media.

In Beijing, Va‘inga attended the first Pacific Heads of Investment Promotion Agencies Meeting, which started on September 12.

The Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, Noel Levi, said that Forum Island Countries wished to forge closer links with China and increase their share of the tourism market from the region.
