Bank of Tonga opens new business branch [1]

A new Branch of the Bank of Tonga to deal mainly with Business and Company Loans was officially opened for business by the Minister for Labour and Commerce, Dr Masaso Paunga, at the New Si‘i Kae Ola Building, Hala Taufa‘ahau on April 29.
Obey Samate, the Manager of Commercial Business, at the new branch said that the main service offered by the branch was Business and Company Loans. “But we will also cater for all the customer services of the bank.”
The General Manager, Brian Harris, said that the opening of the new branch office clearly showed that the two major shareholders of the Bank of Tonga, Westpac Banking and the Government of Tonga, had faith in the business community in Tonga.
He said that in a few months time the Bank of Tonga would set up an ATM machine for electronic banking customers.
The bank spent $150,000 in renovating its new branch and providing a comfortable working areas for 13 employees there.
