Quality handicrafts were showcased by local artists to Crown Princess Sinaitakala Tuku’aho on 20 January at the True Tonga Inc. space at Small Industries Centre.

Artists who had made authentic Tongan products showcased their work hoping to expand their markets.

The Managing Director Monalisa Palu said the organisation promotes economic empowerment, cultural preservation and sustainable livelihoods.

"We are very humbled with this beginning,” she said.  "It is a chance to continue the work over the past few years with key stakeholders, including trainers and beneficiaries and now we are incorporating lessons learnt."

Lesieli Tupou, a trainer who has taught women mosikaka weaving in Tonga, presented a little bag she made using the mosikaka technique to the Crown Princess.
