Fiji manufacturer expands to Tonga [1]

South Pacific Importers and Exporters Ltd. has begun a wholesale delivery business in Tongatapu.

Avinesh Virendra Prasad, the manager of SPIEL said that they sell only Fijian-made products from Combined Manufacturers Ltd. and Punja. He said that Punja’s products such as tea and cooking oil were already established in Tonga, but since SPIEL began operation in Tonga on December 1 last year they had introduced a wider range of Punja’s products. The company produces and packages everything from detergent, to powdered milk, spices, cordials, rice, flour, liquors, cartons, plastic bottles and soap.

“The health and the quality of life in the homes is the motto of our operation,” he said.

Avinesh said that they were already planning to expand their operation in Tonga, to establish a manufacturing site at the Small Industries Centre to manufacture washing detergent.
