Sydney 2000 Olympic Torch relay arrives in Tonga [1]

The Sydney 2000 Olympic Torch Relay arrived in Tonga on June 2, and the first carrier was Hon. Fane Tupou Vava‘u Tuita, (centre page) who began the torch relay from the Ha‘amonga ‘a Maui Triathlon in eastern Tongatapu.
The second carrier was Keta ‘Iongi, Tonga‘s South Pacific Games four-time gold medalist. The girl with the flower in her hair is Pualani ‘Ahokovi. Prince ‘Ahoeitu brought the torch to the Royal Palace, and finally Tonga’s Olympic silver medalist Paea Wolfgramm presented the torch to the King at the Teufaiva Stadium.
