Miss Cook Islands, Liana Tarita Scott, was crowned as Miss South Pacific 1999-2000 at the Miss South Pacific Pageant in Nuku‘alofa, Tonga.
First runner up: Miss Tonga, ‘Anaseini Fonoti Taumoepeau, at the event held on October 29. Other places went to Second runner-up, Miss Papua New Guinea, Heila Moana Oala; Third runner-up: Miss Samoa, Taralina Gae'e and Fourth runner-up, Miss Fiji Islands, Joanne Kakoa Terubea.
Other prizes awarded at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall were: Best special talent, Miss Tonga; Best traditional dress, Miss Cook Islands; Best sash, Miss Tonga; Best sarong, Miss Hawai'i; Best coconut creation, Miss Samoa; Best personality selected by the Contestants, Miss Papua New Guinea; and Mss Photogenic, Miss Solomon Islands.
