Tonga‘s 1999 parliamentary election is set for March 10 for the nobles and March 11 for the people.

Next year’s election will elect members of parliament to serve in Tonga‘s Legislative Assembly for the next three years, 1999-2001.

The closing date for the registration of candidates for the election is January 12.

Tonga’s 1999 parliamentary election should be an interesting election, because of the demand on the government and politicians to come up with a strategy to revive the economy.
