Mother faces domestic violence charge [1]

A mother from Lapaha has been charged with a domestic violence offence in an incident involving her 4-month old baby daughter on 4 October in Lapaha. 

Acting Deputy Police Commissioner Salote Tonga said today that following the incident at around 10:00pm Sunday, the mother's sister took the baby to the police station in Mu'a.

The baby girl was admitted to Vaiola Hospital where she was confirmed to have sustained bruises to her face, she said.

The mother was arrested and charged with a domestic violence offence.
