Murder accused appears in court [1]

Tevita Halelima Hafoka (25), charged with the murder of a 24-year-old soldier in a stabbing incident earlier this month, appeared at the Nuku’alofa Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 20 July. 

The accused from Kolofo’ou is expected to appear next at the lower court on Monday, 24 August.

On Saturday night 11 July, the victim Sioeli ‘Aholelei Finau (24) was allegedly stabbed on the chest with a knife by the accused during a brawl at around midnight near E.M Jones Ltd store in the Central Business District.

Police arrested the accused and charged him with murder last week

The victim from Pelehake died at Vaiola Hospital.
