Coronation Agricultural Shows start August 5 in Niuas [1]

A Coronation Royal Agricultural Show is expected to be opened by King Tupou VI on 5 August in Niuatoputapu.

Agricultural shows will be held on six islands starting in Niuatoputapu and followed by Niuafo’ou, Vava’u, Ha’apai, ‘Eua and Tongatapu where local foodcrops, export crops, fish, seafood, handicrafts and locally manufactured goods and services will be displayed.

‘Eleni Fausitina Posese Tu'i Information Officer of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Forests and Fisheries (MAFFF) said the event this year was designated as the Coronation Royal Agricultural Show 2015, following the coronation of King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau'u on 4 July.

Agricultural Shows dates

Niuatoputapu 5 August
Niuafo’ou 6 August
Vava’u 8 August
Ha’apai 12 August
‘Eua 14 August
Tongatapu 21-22 August

The annual event is organized by MAFFF to encourage the development of the sectors and in the interests of food security.
