A 25-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 24-year-old man who was allegedly stabbed with a knife on Saturday night 11 July, in the Nuku'alofa Central Business District.

The accused from Kolofo’ou remains in custody to appear at the Nuku’alofa Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 21 July.

The victim from Pelehake is reported to have died at Vaiola Hospital after he receiving chest wounds.

Police said the incident took place around midnight near E.M. Jones Ltd. store. Police said the investigation is continuing.
