Three nobles will close the current sitting of the Legislative Assembly of Tonga tomorrow Thursday, 21 May before King Tupou VI opens it again on 28 May.

HSH Prince Kalaniuvalu, Lord Vaha’i and Lord Fakafanua have been commissioned by the King to carry out the soft closing ceremony at Parliament House. The current sitting was opened in January this year following the 2014 election.

This will be followed by a State opening of the Legislative Assembly's formal session for 2015 by the King on Thursday, 28 May.

The first agenda item for the House will be the reply to the message from the Throne before discussing the 2015-16 Budget Estimate, according to a statement from  Parliament's Office.
