Two policemen await manslaughter verdict [1]

A Supreme Court judge will deliver his verdict on Monday, 27 April in the trial of two policemen charged with manslaughter in the death of a 20-year-old man in 2012.
Samisoni Taufa (32) and Sosefo Masalu (27) have each pleaded not guilty to manslaughter with an alternative count of grievous bodily harm.
A trial before Mr Justice Cato, which began two-weeks ago has ended awaiting a judgement.
The Crown alleged that an assault on the victim ‘Inoke Pepa by the two police officers led his death on 16 November 2012 at Vaini. He had sustained serious head injuries.
The Director of Public Prosecutions ‘Aminiasi Kefu represented the Crown with Sifa Tu‘utafaiva for the accused.
