Two outstanding Tongan scholarship students in New Zealand, ‘Amelia Fa’otusia (19) and Fiolo Kaloni have won the New Zealand Pacific Scholarship Academic Award for 2015.

The New Zealand High Commissioner to Tonga, Mark Talbot congratulated ‘Amelia and Fiolo yesterday and said that Tonga should be proud of them.

“Only ten of these Awards are given out each year, and they are extremely hard fought over. I am honoured that the New Zealand High Commission can associate itself with ‘Amelia and Fiolo, both of whom are shining lights for Tonga’s future.”

This is the second year running that ‘Amelia Fa’otusia has won the prize, she is studying at Waikato University and is majoring in Economic and Financial analysis.

Fiolo Kaloni studies Electrical Engineering at the Manukau Institute of Technology.
