Election petitions against Vava'u PRs [1]

Election petitions filed against two elected Vava'u People's Representatives to Parliament for alleged bribery are coming up at the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court.
One of the separate petitions filed with the court in December last year is against Samiu Vaipulu, the Vava'u No.15 People's Representative and former Deputy Prime Minister.
An unsuccesful Vava'u candidate, Tomifa Paea, filed the petition, which has been set down to be called on Tuesday, 27 January before Hon Chief Justice Paulsen.
The other election petition is against Vava’u No.16 People’s Representative and new Minister of Infrastructure Hon 'Etuate Lavulavu for alleged bribery or illegal practices, filed by Viliami Latu and 'Aisea Siliveinusi.
A court date for this case has not been set down at this stage.
