Viliami Takau (39) of Ma’ufanga has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer for the Tonga Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TCCI).

Prior to his appointment, Viliami was Secretary of the TCCI. He is currently a general manager at Pacific Retail Ltd, a former general manager of Leiola Group Ltd and a former manager at Foodstuffs South Island Ltd in Dunedin, New Zealand. In 2007 he was the financial advisor for AusAID in Tonga.

TCCI President, John Paul Chapman stated “Viliami Takau possesses the unique combination of experience, talent, intellect and character necessary to lead TCCI forward with the eagerness and urgency demanded by both the Council and members of the business communities”.

John Paul said that TCCI was gearing up for major engagement early 2015 with its members, greater business community, and the new Government.

“Through the provision of reliable and actionable information, TCCI aim to meaningfully contribute to improved outcomes and effectiveness in the business community throughout the Kingdom of Tonga,” he said.
