Businesses in Tonga will soon be able to renew their business licences online, by accessing a new government website www.businessregistries.gov.to [2].  

The ambitious website is due to be launched and made publicly available next Tuesday, December 2.

The Ministry of Commerce, Tourism & Labour last week announced the launching of the website that will provide for the registration of companies, business licences and names.

Online registration should provide internet convenience for businesses renewing their licences, however registry via paper applications will still be available.

According to the Ministry, Tonga will be the first country in the Pacific to provide an electronic database for the registering of business licenses.
