Reserve Bank staff allowed mortgages [1]

Employees at the National Reserve Bank of Tonga (NRBT) can take mortgages starting on November 14, 2014, following the Gazetting of a new order.

The mortgages are solely for residential house loans, as stated in a Tonga Government Gazette, specifying the authorization in an Order-in-Council made by His Majesty in Council.

The Bank had up to the end of June 2013 employed 80 staff and three daily note counters. It also has six board members.
