Inflation rate on the rise [1]

The inflation rate for the month of August this year 2014 was almost three times higher than the inflation rate for the month of August last year 2013.

According to Tonga Statistics Department, the inflation rate for the month of August this year 2014 was 2.5%. In August 2013 the inflation rate was 0.9%.

The inflation rate has been on a rise since June. It peaked at almost 5% in January and February this year.
