The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William and his brother Prince Harry have a launched a search to find and reward “exceptional young people” from commonwealth countries, including Tonga.
The search is part of The Queen’s Young Leaders Programme, which aims to find and reward young achievers between 18 and 29 and enable them to reach their full potential to step up as leaders.
According to the programme, “The Queen’s young leaders programme is searching for inspirational young people across the Commonwealth who are making a difference in their communities…we’ll support them to do more life-changing work.”
It added “Grants will be made to organisations in selected Commonwealth countries that can show they are improving the lives of young people. The grants will help individuals gain new skills, employment and a voice in their communities.”
Prince Williams stated “The Queen’s Young Leaders Programme is intended to find young leaders who have determination, and to equip them with tools to succeed.”
“The Commonwealth is uniquely placed to do this work, as it reaches 53 countries and embraces a range of leadership styles. The search is on for the Queen’s Young Leaders.”
Prince Harry added “The young leaders of today have the greatest opportunity of any in our history to reach out across the Commonwealth and affect change on a global scale.”
